A Quick Introduction To QR Codes

I hope your fourth of July went well. Norcross celebrated with fireworks July 3rd so we got to enjoy our holiday on Sunday!

I am writing this to share some basic information on QR Codes as a lot of people have been asking about them. I'll share the highlights and if you want more information or want to make your own code, I have provided a few links below.

I have also attached a QR code of my contact information for you to try out your new found knowledge on!

QR Codes (abbreviated from Quick Response code) is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code) that is readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera telephones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded may be text, URL, or other data. (From Wikipedia)

QR codes can be used to bridge offline interactions to online, or vice versa. These interactions can be

Websites, Events, Contact Information, Location, Text Message, Memo, and a WIFI Login

Imagine you were given a business card with a QR code. Now instead of manually typing out the information on the card into your computer, you scan the QR code and, in a few seconds, the data is in your phone or computer. Imagine how quickly you could get through your stack of business cards!

Imagine you have an upcoming event you want to promote. On your posters, add a QR code for the event. An individual would scan the QR code and it would add it to their calendar. Now they won't forget about it once they walk away.

It is pretty cool stuff. If you want to read more check out the links below.
